First,
we searched the look book and came up with a general idea of what we both
wanted, which included women’s clothes, accessories, girl’s clothes, and home
goods. Early this morning my friend went
online to determine which of the 3 stores near us had the most stock. Armed with that info and a passion for
designer clothes, we decided to get to Target by 7:00 a.m. at the latest. I dropped her off at 7:00 and did a quick
Starbucks run to fuel us for the shopping frenzy ahead. We were 3rd and 4th in
line. By the time I got back with
coffee, she had made friends with the other 2 gals in front of us and we
brainstormed how to outsmart and out shop the 96 or so people lining up behind
us. My friend decided to run to the girl’s
section first to grab whatever she could for each of our daughters. My task was to make a bee line for the women’s
section and grab both our sizes in whatever I could. The other ladies were particularly interested
in home goods and promised my friend coffee mugs, if she could get her hands on
them.
Target
opened their doors at 8:00 and the crowd made Good Friday look small time. My cart was full in 5 minutes. I grabbed several sizes of dresses, tops,
shorts, and pants, along with all of the other women doing the same. 10 minutes later the racks were empty. My friend came back with her cart full of girl’s
clothing and she scored us each a beach tote.
We spent the next hour or two trying on and deciding what to keep and
what to put back. I came home with more
than I intended and really hoped my girls would not like what I chose for
them. No such luck. They liked it all. I’m making myself return a few things, and
keeping the items that I really love and will wear or use often.
When we
finally left the store, I was disappointed that I was not wearing my
FitBit. I’m pretty sure I walked
thousands of steps all across Target. Oh
well, other than that, it was a very fun morning with my good friend and 100
women in Portland who love Lilly. Who knew?
Wishing
you fun with fashion!
Love,
Rebecca
